No Man’s Sky are no Show

At the annual Game Developers Conference there is an award show. It’s kind of a big deal. The Game Developers Choice Awards are a nod from those in the know and therefore held in high esteem. It seems an almighty snub then that the team from No Man’s Sky didn’t arrive. Even worse that they won. The team was so convinced they wouldn’t win that they chose instead to have a team dinner nearby. While I don’t mind them not thinking they’d win I do find it rude that they didn’t come to watch the awards anyway.

Tim Schafer was the unlucky party who had to attempt to give out the Innovation Award. Having said “Going once… going twice…” he eventually accepted himself on the team’s behalf.
