Red Dead Redemption 2 is Coming
Gamers have been in a huge tizzy since Red Dead Redemption 2 was announced. We all knew it was coming and still, it was awesome news. Up until now we have had little to go on apart from the announcement trailer. Now it appears we know exactly when we are likely to get it.
Accidentally on Purpose
Officially we’ve been told Fall 2017 is the launch window. Now Polish retailer Media Markt seem to have let the cat out of the bag on specifics. Their website has a firm release date of October 3rd. A detail that didn’t go unnoticed by another Polish site CD-Action. They questioned Media Markt on the validity of the date are were told that the game’s distributor had given them the date.
“I would like to inform you that our marketing department was informed by distributor of the game that its airing date is 3rd of October 2017” – translated by Reddit user Adakam8323.
Then it all got a bit strange. After the message had been sent the Media Markt PR Manager declared that there is no confirmed release date. Apparently the team member who sent the first email was mistaken. The page has been updated to reflect this and now has a December 31st date as a placeholder.
My guess is that October 3rd is the date Rockstar are hoping for. I suspect somebody broke an embargo either to make headlines or as an honest mistake. That being said a game as huge as Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to have holdups. In reality I think we’ll be able to get our hands on it late November.
In the Meantime
While you ponder what the truth actually is feel sorry for PC players. As of yet RDR2 is not coming to PC. This is something they are currently petitioning as they’re so desperate to get their hands on one of the most anticipated games of the year. As it stands Red Dead Redemption 2 will land on PS4 and X1 with PS4 players getting first access to online content.
